Spec films for consumer brands

Seven films, written, generated and directed by Picante. Concept films are self-initiated, not commissioned by the brands shown.

The Picante Studio Good product. No spice. The chili dot lands on a grey product and every world it kicks off is one of our three jobs: a film, a site, a month of content. Read the case study
Bangalore Watch Company The strap is the timeline. A 100-piece limited edition with a recovered-carbon dial. The watch decomposes along its strap into an exploded stack, then slams back together. Read the case study
The Picante Studio Real product. Wild ideas. Flat ideas on a real product: a sticker that rocks the bottle, feet that tilt the cards, a button pressed on real glass. Read the case study
Picante Park Drawn to be lived in. A living blueprint: the section tilts off the page and the tower builds itself floor by floor, the lime rail lighting every terrace. Read the case study
Misfits Small. Big fizz. A prebiotic soda with illustrated cans. We opened on a single droplet and pulled back until the landscape became the can, with the real artwork carried through the whole move. Read the case study
Picante Burger Every layer. On purpose. Smash patties, a flip into the void, a tunnel of ingredients, and gravity building the stack in one counter-orbit. Read the case study
Jimmy's Cocktails Mango first. Then chilli. Colour-coated bottles, one colour per flavour. The floor floods mango, a chilli lands, a red pulse climbs the bottle and the pour hits the glass. Read the case study

Motion graphics

Sales and launch films for our clients, in 3D and motion, written to the voice-over.

Haut sales film

A 40-second 3D sales film for Haut, software for bars and restaurants. Closing time at 1:12 AM, a night that never adds up, then the same night on Haut. Built in Blender with kinetic type, voice-over and sound designed to the frame.

QwikQuote.ai film

A 64-second film for QwikQuote.ai, QCS Tech's refinance quoting tool for US loan officers. One loan officer's story, told with the product on screen, voice-over, music and sound.

Convo AI launch film

A 4K launch film for a conversational AI product, from script to screen in one week. Screened at conferences and summits worldwide.

QED Vault marketing film

QED Vault authenticates products and turns every token movement into real-time data, a detailed view of a product's journey. The client sent a script. Picante designed, edited and crafted the film and its audio from scratch. 97 seconds, 4K.

Motion reels

Short films we cut for the feed, in 16:9: our own reels, and moments from client work.

Studio film

Our own 12-second film: kinetic type, our product films, SaaS work, websites and stills, cut to the music with sound designed to the frame.

We don't make ads

Ten seconds, one word per beat. Every flash is real work: our films, client films and a site we built. The Jimmy's, Misfits and Bangalore Watch Company flashes are self-initiated concepts.

Every missed call

Three moments from the Convo AI launch film for QCSTech: voice, chat and always on.

One sauce, eight styles

We designed a hot sauce for the studio, then made it in eight looks, from hyper-motion 3D and flat 2D to claymation and pixel art. Same bottle, one continuous turn.

Brief to live in 10 days

Logo, brand system, identity and website for a psychologist who started with nothing, live in ten days.

Skip the shoot

Three quick line drawings become three of our product films. No studio, no crew, no shoot day. The bottle and watch films are self-initiated concepts.

Sound is half the film

The first five seconds of our studio film three times: sound off, music only, then the full sound design.

Chilli specimen

A botanical specimen study rebuilt around one chilli. The photographs are generated; every word, line and transition is set in code.

You get about 1.7 seconds

People spend about 1.7 seconds with a piece of content in a mobile feed (Facebook IQ, 2016). The three rules we build every product film around.

Who this is for

A launch is coming and there is no film. A shoot is not in the budget or the calendar. Or you have a script and a deadline and nothing else. Food and drink, D2C, jewellery, watches and SaaS brands are most of what we do.

Not for you if the film needs a camera crew on location, a presenter, or real people tasting the product. We build in motion; a shoot is a different service and we will say so on the first call.

What we make

Hyper-motion product films: ten to thirty seconds, the product as the hero, built in 3D and motion from your product photos or files. Motion-graphics ads for feeds and screens. 2D explainers for products that need a story told in order. 3D product visualisation and still packs for listings and launches. Every film is delivered in the formats you run: 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9, with and without text.

How it is made

A one-page direction first: the idea, the references and a timestamped beat sheet you approve before anything is animated. Then the film is built in-house, so the first draft is the real thing. Sound is designed with the picture. Revision rounds are agreed up front and feedback goes in one list.

Timeline

Standard turnaround is 7 to 10 business days from an approved direction. The QCSTech Convo AI launch film went from script to screen in one week. Rush delivery in four business days or less is possible; it is quoted as a rush.

What is included

The deliverables we quote, and how long each usually takes from an approved direction. Send the brief and the quote comes back the same day, fixed.

Questions we get

Straight answers, the same ones we give on the first call.

How much does a product film cost in India?

It depends on length, 2D or 3D, whether the product has to be modelled from scratch, custom sound, formats and revision rounds. We quote every film as a fixed price within a day of the brief. Published market ranges and the questions that make two quotes comparable are on our product film cost page.

Do I need a shoot or product photos?

No shoot. We build the product in 3D from clear product photos, pack artwork or a 3D file if you have one. If the product has to be modelled from scratch we say so before quoting.

How long does it take?

Standard turnaround is 7 to 10 business days from an approved direction. Rush delivery in four business days or less is possible and quoted as a rush. Tell us the real deadline on day one and we plan backwards from it.

What formats do I get?

Whatever you run: 9:16 for reels and stories, 1:1 for feeds, 16:9 for screens and YouTube, each with and without text. List every placement in the brief; formats added after delivery cost more than formats planned.

Can you work from a script we already have?

Yes. QCSTech and QED Vault both sent finished scripts and we designed, animated and scored the films from them. If there is no script, the direction page covers the story.

Where can the film run?

Organic and paid digital for 12 months in one market is included. Global or perpetual digital use, television, outdoor and print at scale are quoted on top.

Tell us what you're launching.

Send the brief, the product or just the problem. We reply with an approach and a quote.
